AS Adventure moves in the fully renovated Galeries de la Toison d’Or

The Toison d’Or Galleries in the city-centre of Brussels is currently being renovated by its owners, the Gillion family and ING Real Estate Development. Real estate consultants CB Richard Ellis and Cushman & Wakefield have been appointed co-exclusively to commercialise the project.

Advised by CB Richard Ellis, the outdoor and leisure retailspecialist AS Adventure recently agreed terms on a lease of 1.954 sq.m in the renovated Toison d’Or galleries. The brand will be located in the heart of the shopping gallery, just next to Fnac and facing Esprit and Pepe Jeans stores.

This selling point will be the first AS Adventure retail unit in the Brussels city-centre, and will become the biggest “City Store” in Belgium. AS Adventure is already present in the Basilix Shoppingcenter in Berchem-Ganshoren and along the Weiveldlaan in Zaventem.

ING Real Estate Development and the family Gillion are each owning half of the Toison d’Or Galleries. They are investing more than 25 million euros to renovate the asset. The project will maintain its total floor area of 15.000 sq.m, but the number of retail units will be reduced from 80 to 41. This will allow more spacious stores, which should make shopping in the retail galleries more attractive to consumers. The layout of the complex will be simplified, keeping only the two main entrances along the Avenue de la Toison d’Or and the Chaussée d’Ixelles. Next to Fnac (3.700 sq.m) and AS Adventure, other retailers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Esprit, Pepe Jeans, Olivier Dachkin and Scotch & Soda have already decided to move to the renewed Galleries de la Toison.

The opening of the renovated project is planned for March 2010.
