CB Richard Ellis Appointed on E&M Redevelopment, Union Street, Aberdeen

Aberdeen - 23 October 2009 - Leading property consultant, CB Richard Ellis (Scotland) have been instructed to market 26-38 Union Street, Aberdeen, on behalf of C&L Properties.

The property, formerly the Esslemont and MacIntosh Department Store, will provide up to four retail units ranging from 1,991 to 7,739 sq ft across the ground and lower ground floors. The remaining upper floors of the building were granted full approval last year for hotel use and alternative uses are also being considered.

The area is a focal point for Aberdeen’s burgeoning city centre, with significant commercial developments already ongoing, such as Aberdeen City Council’s 180,000 sq ft new headquarters in the former Marischal College building, close to the Union Street development.

Derren McRae, Associate Director, CB Richard Ellis (Scotland) commented: “This is one of the best known retail buildings on Union Street, providing a great opportunity to maximise on the exciting growth in the locality. We have been encouraged with the early level of enquiry from both local and national retailers for this prominently located development.”
