CB Richard Ellis to Advise Lend Lease on Bluewater

London – 9 October 2009 – CB Richard Ellis’ Retail Shopping Centre Leasing team have won a landmark instruction to advise Lend Lease on the leasing of Bluewater in Kent. This is the fourth major shopping centre leasing instruction for CBRE in six months.

Bluewater is amongst the leading retail and leisure destinations in Europe comprising 1.6m sq ft in 330 shops, restaurants, cafés and bars.

Ciaran Bird, UK Head of Retail at CB Richard Ellis said: “Bluewater changed the face of UK retailing when it launched ten years ago and is a unique destination for shoppers. We’re very pleased to have been selected by Lend Lease to take the centre into the next decade, bringing new brands and concepts to the market.”

Guy Thomas, head of leasing at Lend Lease, said: "Bluewater remains the UK’s premium retail asset and the addition of the CBRE to the leasing team, alongside the excellent service provided by DTZ, will only serve to strengthen this position. We will continue to maintain and build our current strong position in the market and keep Bluewater at the forefront of the retail industry."

This success comes only weeks after Land Securities appointed CBRE to act as letting agents for One New Change in London and follows appointments to lease both Cabot Circus (Bristol) and Covent Garden (London) in March and May.
