CBRE & RICS announce the launch of new progressive diversity book
Global real estate advisor CBRE together with RICS are pleased to announce the launch of a new book: Managing Diversity and Inclusion in the Real Estate Sector. The launch will take place at MIPIM 2019 in Cannes.
Co-authored by real estate veterans, Amanda Clack, Head of Strategic Advisory at CBRE and Judith Gabler, Acting Managing Director, Europe for RICS, the book places diversity and inclusion (D&I) at the centre of successful real estate and construction organisations. The book provides guidance to, and most importantly actions for professionals in the sector who want to make D&I an inherent part of the culture of their organisation. The book aims to educate the real estate sector about what D&I entails and how a D&I strategy can be implemented to secure future success. It presents a practical and easy-to-read guide that can help organisations and their leaders engage with and apply this agenda to win the war for talent in real estate and construction. It seeks to be about action not words and help those in the sector #BeTheChange.
Amanda Clack commented: “Research shows that high-performing organisations focus on diversity and inclusion. In any workplace, it is important to both understand and recognise the benefits that having a D&I workforce provides. It is integral to developing people within an organisation, serving clients as best we can, and playing an important leadership role in communities. We truly hope that this book will herald a step change in the role of D&I.”
Judith Gabler commented: “This book is essential reading for all property leaders and professionals working in the real estate and construction sectors. Readers will gain from the personal reflections on all aspects of diversity by a broad range of people working in the property industry.”

Diversity is not about ticking boxes, you have to believe it and implement real change, starting with education. This is a fascinating book, which really brings home the point that no business can afford to underestimate the commercial imperative of having a diverse and collaborative workforce.
The book launch will take place on Wednesday 13 March 2019 at 1pm, Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France. For more information see: https://www.rics.org/mipim
