CBRE appoints Julian Allen to lead Real Estate Investment Banking for EMEA
CBRE Capital Advisors has appointed Julian Allen as an Executive Director and Head of Real Estate Investment Banking across EMEA.
Julian joins from Citigroup where he has been Managing Director and head of the EMEA Real Estate and Lodging Group since 2014. He has over 20 years’ experience working in real estate corporate finance in both London and New York and has acted as M&A advisor on numerous high-profile transactions. He also has considerable capital markets experience, having raised in excess of $50bn of equity and debt financing for clients across more than 100 transactions as well as managing a wide variety of IPO transactions.
Julian will succeed Tim Ryan in the role and will be responsible for the continued expansion of CBRE’s Real Estate Investment Banking team across EMEA, working closely with Benjamin Rouah, Head of Real Estate Investment Banking, Continental Europe, to capitalise on the vast opportunities available in the market, with a particular focus on M&A and other corporate finance opportunities. He will also have executive responsibility for CBRE’s Equity Placement and PropertyMatch businesses in the UK. Julian will start in September.
CBRE’s Real Estate Investment Banking team has acted on a variety of high-profile transactions, most recently advising Digital Realty on the €500m sale of their operational, pan-European Data Centre portfolio to Singapore’s Ascendas REIT. The team forms part of CBRE Capital Advisors’ wider Corporate Finance capability, which includes Debt Advisory, led by Paul Coates, Corporate Capital Markets, led by Colin Elliot, Equity Placement, led by James O’Neill and PropertyMatch headed up by Paul Robinson.
