CBRE appoints Louise Wyman as Executive Director, Strategic Development

Global real estate advisor CBRE has appointed Louise Wyman as Executive Director, Strategic Development. Louise joins CBRE in September this year and will be based in Birmingham with a UK-wide remit.

Louise was most recently Strategic Director Growth & Development at Manchester City Council. She was responsible for leading Manchester’s commercial property, housing, planning and regeneration teams, as well as teams focused on inward investment, skills building and delivering inclusive growth.

Previously, Louise was Director of Strategy & Engagement at Homes England and part of the team that established the Government’s housing agency in 2018. Whilst at Homes England, Louise was seconded to West Midlands Combined Authority to lead on Design and Development initiatives. This included launching the West Midlands Design Charter with Mayor Andy Street, aimed at raising the quality and sustainability of the built environment across the West Midlands region.

Louise is a Chartered Surveyor and a Landscape Architect who led urban renewal and regeneration projects in the Czech Republic and USA early in her career. She’s a former member of the Planning Committee for London Legacy Development Corporation with responsibility for developing London’s 2012 Olympic Park. She was also a founding Director of Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, delivering a new Garden City in North Kent.

Louise is a member of the National Infrastructure Commission Design Group and an Ambassador for the Design Council.

Adam Hetherington, Executive Director at CBRE commented; “Our public and private sector clients are increasingly seeking strategic advice around urban regeneration projects to drive economic recovery and 'levelling up' as our UK cities and towns focus on repositioning post Covid-19. Louise’s wealth of experience and fantastic track record will elevate our existing strengths in this area and enable us to make a more significant impact on major urban renewal projects across the UK.”

Louise Wyman commented: “There’s a fantastic opportunity for CBRE to use the power of its UK platform to identify credible urban renewal projects that will over time, often require complex land assembly, infrastructure investment to unlock growth, public/private sector delivery vehicles and the production of comprehensive masterplans. This is an area where I have considerable experience and I'm delighted to be joining CBRE’s expert team to help spearhead the firm’s continued growth in this area.”
