CBRE Appoints New UK Head Of Shopping Centre Management

London, November 2012 - CBRE has appointed John Prestwich as its new UK Head of Shopping Centre Management

Prestwich, who boasts over 20 years' experience in shopping centre management, joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he spent five years as a partner and Head of Retail Asset Management.

Prestwich will lead CBRE's thriving shopping centre management team which manages 31 shopping centres in the UK, three of which are top 15 centres including Manchester Arndale and Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. He will join CBRE on 3 December.

The arrival of Prestwich is a further boost for CBRE's Property and Asset Management team which this year also welcomed David King, Executive Director responsible for business development and client care, and Mike Jones as Head of Regions for Property and Asset Management.

CBRE currently manages 170 million sq ft of commercial space in the UK and has won a number of high value mandates in 2012 including the Barclays Fund for Aberdeen Property Investors, three funds for CBRE Global Investors, three shopping centres for Hermesan industrial portfolio for Canmoor and Centre MK for Hermes/PRUPIM.

In 2011 CBRE was appointed by PRUPIM to manage its 45 million sq ft UK portfolio, which remains the largest ever UK real estate outsourcing mandate.

Richard Williams, Head of Property and Asset Management at CBRE said: "John is very well known and respected in the shopping centre industry, and is a fantastic addition to our shopping centre team. The team has trebled in size in the past two years and with John on board we are confident that we can continue to expand in this market."
