CBRE completes £1.2M Wednesbury refurb

Leeds, October 2011 – The Building Consultancy team at CBRE in Leeds has completed a £1.2M reinstatement of a fire damaged building in Wednesbury, West Midlands on behalf of Spire Midlands Ltd.

The 16,145sq ft unit at Newman Park on Western Way had formerly been used as a waste recycling plant. CBRE’s experienced team project managed a comprehensive programme of decontamination works and asbestos removal prior to demolishing and rebuilding the unit.

Richard Bamford, Senior Director of Building Consultancy at CBRE in Leeds, said; “The intensity of the fire and the extent of damage to the Units at Newman Park was such that the building needed to be totally demolished, including the floor slab and foundations and rebuilt. Our work involved managing the site works and liaising with environmental consultants, The Environment Agency along with HSE and legal advisors. The end result is a modern, industrial warehouse that has been constructed to a high standard of finish.”
