CBRE continues expansion drive with appointments to Professional and Valuation departments

CB Richard Ellis in Southampton has continued its expansion drive with the appointment of Chris Pearson and Tina Gates who joined the Professional Practice team from telecoms specialist Andrew Wilkes and Associates in Lymington and Clare Gage who has joined the Valuation team from Savills in Southampton.

• Chris, 43, joined as an Associate Director, reporting to Regional Managing Director, Neville Thompson with particular remit for landlord and tenant. Having qualified in 1988, he has 19 years’ experience, most recently Andrew Wilkes as a senior acquisition manager for seven years, working on network implementation and management, responsible for a team of five acquisition surveyors.

Prior to this he was at Unite Group (originally a joint venture between Peabody Trust and Unite plc) in London as a Senior Development Surveyor for two years having spent 10 years working in the Southampton market for commercial departments of regional residential agents including Fox and Sons, Cardell Groves and establishing Colleys Southampton

• Tina Gates, 27 joined as a Graduate Surveyor having spent the last eight years at Andrew Wilkes reaching promotion to Acquisition Surveyor responsible for a number of telecommunications clients, latterly specializing in a ‘roll-out’ programme for new sites for T-Mobile.

She gained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Real Estate Management with Law and Property Valuation being the main focus from the University of Portsmouth and is now about to study for her RICS qualification.

• Clare, aged 25, joined the Commercial Valuation department as a Graduate Surveyor, reporting to Director Stephen Whitworth. She works alongside the members of the team specialising in the valuation of land and buildings, including a wide range of residential and commercial properties.

Clare joined Savills Wimborne office in 2000, before moving to the Canford Cliffs Office in 2002 during which time she attained a Diploma in Surveying Practice by distance learning through the College of Estate Management in Reading. In May 2006 she moved to the Savills’ Southampton office as a trainee surveyor in the Valuation department. She recently attained a First Class degree in Estate Management, also undertaken through the College of Estate Management, and is currently working towards becoming a member of RICS.

Commenting on the recent appointments, Neville Thompson, Managing Director said:
“The Southampton office has enjoyed a big increase in retained client work, particularly in the Asset Management and other professional areas of the business particularly in rent review and lease renewal work. These latest appointments bring the number of staff to 28 a *% increase over this time a year ago.

“We recently announced excellent third quarter results up 35% against last year and we look forward to continued progress.”
