CBRE joins nationwide Career Immersion event to open up opportunities in the real estate sector

Global real estate advisor CBRE is taking part in the 2021 Career Immersion event. The firm will be one of a group of large UK employers coming together for the fourth consecutive year, to help students navigate the uncertainty around employment options and make informed choices about their prospective careers.

The event is aimed primarily at students studying at school, university or college in the UK from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds. However anyone, regardless of background, can attend if they feel they would benefit from the support provided.

The sessions across a variety of industries, will take place over two weeks in October and provide insight into particular roles, what career trajectories look like, the journey of recent graduates and apprentices, what graduate and non-graduate schemes are available as well as how to make a strong application.

CBRE’s session which will be hosted by Ciaran Bird, CBRE’s Divisional President, and Leanne Bajak, CBRE’s Senior People Business Partner, will take place on Wednesday 20 October at 5pm. The session will offer information about the firm, career opportunities and an interactive Q&A panel session with HR and employees from across the business, including recent grads and apprentices.

When people think about property, they think about estate agents and construction. There is very limited awareness in schools about the fascinating complexity of property and the built environment and all the other areas and paths it entails. We cannot expect a diverse pool of young people to enter a profession they have never heard of. This is why I am delighted to be taking part in this very worthwhile event, during which I hope we will encourage more young people to join the property industry.
