CBRE marks Action for Children’s 150-year anniversary with £150k donation

CBRE has donated £150,000 to its UK charity partner Action for Children, a UK charity committed to helping vulnerable children, young people and their families. This latest donation is given in honour of the charity reaching its 150-year anniversary.

This latest donation brings CBRE’s total fundraising and pro-bono activities total to £750,000. The UK-wide partnership with the charity was extended to its third year following significant fundraising achievements. The money raised by CBRE is enabling Action for Children to hire six transition workers across the country as part of CBRE’s special transition programme to support foster children and help build a better future.

180 CBRE staff have also volunteered over 1,000 hours of their time to Action for Children and the firm are currently assisting the charity with its property strategy on a pro-bono basis.

The charity partnership has also allowed CBRE to become one of the first businesses in the UK to sign up to the Governments ‘Care Leavers Covenant’ which asks public, private and voluntary sector organizations to support young people leaving care.

Julie Bentley, Chief Executive for Action for Children, said: “What we want is for every child and young person in the country to have a safe and happy childhood with the foundations they need to thrive, and we are incredibly grateful to CBRE for their generous donation this week to celebrate Action for Children’s 150th anniversary. All of the funds raised will enable Action for Children to continue providing specialist support to children and young people in the foster care system across the UK.”
