CBRE strengthens its ESG capabilities with appointment of Social Value Lead

Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has today announced the appointment of Sophia Cox as Social Value Lead within its Environmental Consultancy business, led by Julie Townsend. Sophia will start her new role in April 2021.

Sophia brings extensive social value experience, most recently as Sustainability Advisor at UK Green Building Council. In this role, she led UKGBC’s Social Value Programme, creating industry guidance on key social value issues, influencing national and local social value policy and providing learning and development materials on social value in the built environment. Sophia also led the UKGBC’s Climate KIC funded Foreground Programme, which supports local authorities taking a leadership role in local development. She is a subject matter expert for social value and local authority led development.

In her new role, Sophia will be responsible for leading, managing and growing the social value service line for the UK business. This will include overseeing the delivery, oversight and quality assurance in the provision of social value products and services for clients as well as quantifying the social value delivered by CBRE’s UK Advisory business, which is integral to CBRE’s overall ESG strategy.
