CBRE Strengthens Lending Team with Key Appointment

Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has appointed Anirudh Kare as a Director in its Lending team.

Kare will be responsible for executing and managing new development loans on behalf of the Lending team’s retained lending programmes, including the Greater Manchester Pension Fund.

Kare joined CBRE from OakNorth Bank, where he spent five years originating, structuring and executing debt packages across a variety of real estate sectors including residential, offices, logistics, retail, hospitality and student accommodation. He brings over ten years’ experience to the role and has worked with an extensive range of clients, including Galliard Group and Alchemy Partners.

Kare’s appointment supports CBRE’s continued growth ambitions in the Lending space. In 2023, the 14-strong team deployed £673m across 30 loans and multiple asset classes, including residential, industrial, office and student accommodation. This has taken the total volume of debt deployed since the team’s inception in 2010 to £3.4bn.

Furthermore, impact loans made on behalf of the regional development funds the team manages, including the Northern Ireland Investment Fund and the Northwest Evergreen Fund have resulted in funding £3.1bn of construction, 3.5m sq ft of building refurbishment and the delivery of 24.6m sq ft of commercial space, creating over 63,000 jobs.

Andrew Antoniades, Head of Lending at CBRE said:

“Last year was our most successful year to date, thanks to our diverse range of lending ability and the volume of capital available deploy. We have a strong pipeline of transactions as our lending mandates look to diversify their investment strategies. Anirudh’s appointment is a key part of our ongoing growth plan as we partner with more capital on lending strategies, both in the public and private sectors, and we are delighted to welcome him into the team.”
