CBRE to work with Preferred Homes to deliver social care developments

Global real estate advisor CBRE is working alongside registered provider of social housing, Preferred Homes Limited (PHL) to deliver opportunities for affordable rented social care developments.

With a current pipeline of five projects providing 330 supported living apartments and totalling £70 Million of investment, including in Leeds, Nottingham and Telford, PHL has significant appetite to expand the number of homes it is delivering.

With active requirements in Greater Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool conurbations, Home Counties including Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Essex, West Sussex and Hertfordshire and London Boroughs, CBRE is working with PHL to source site opportunities. Current schemes include repurposing former retail, hospitality and other redundant commercial sites for 100% affordable rented extra care as well as sites that form part of new housing developments and masterplans.

Philip Schmid, Senior Director in the Senior Housing team says “The significant investment by PHL highlights the demand for sites. With need across the country we are looking forward to helping PHL grow their pipeline further and provide much needed housing options for older people. We welcome opportunities to speak to landowners, housebuilders and developers on how they can work with PHL.”

Findlay MacAlpine CEO at PHL added “We have ambitious plans to deliver 50 schemes over the next five years for some of the most vulnerable in society reflecting a commitment of £700 million from Cornwall to Kent, through the Midlands and onwards to the North West and North East of England. We are looking forward to breathing life into developments, bringing jobs and integrating our homes within local communities.”
