Double boost for CBRE valuation team

CB Richard Ellis’ valuation team in Birmingham has been given a double boost following the appointment of James Harris and Inderjit Sidhu.
Senior surveyor James has worked as a qualified valuer for two years, and joins from the commercial valuation team at DTZ. During this time he was responsible for valuing several large portfolios, including those of Calthorpe Estates and Mucklow Group, for annual company accounts and transactional purposes.

Inderjit qualified as a chartered surveyor in October 2007. Before that he worked at the Valuation Office Agency, firstly in local taxation and latterly in District Valuer Services, doing inheritance tax and capital gains tax valuations for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and compulsory purchase valuations for the M6 Toll.
The duo join one of the city’s most profitable valuation teams, valuing commercial property for banks and lending institutions, developers, investors and occupiers. The team also carry out regular valuations for most pension funds, life funds and unit trusts, tracking the performance of their property assets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Last year, the team valued approximately £5.5 bn of property, comprising institutional and ‘one off’ instructions.
In a further boost for CB Richard Ellis’ Birmingham office, Philip Swift has joined the building consultancy and design team as a senior designer, specialising in interior and exterior refurbishment projects in the commercial sector, and Jeremy Valerio has been appointed as a surveyor in the asset management team.
Prior to joining CBRE, Jeremy was an estates surveyor at City Property Management Services Ltd in Birmingham, before moving to join Colliers CRE as a surveyor in the investment and property asset management departments.
Meanwhile, surveyor Ben Gray has made the move from CBRE’s asset management department to strengthen the investment team.

Martin Guest, managing director at CBRE in Birmingham, said: “The Birmingham office team is continuing to grow at a healthy rate across all departments as a result of an increasing demand for both professional and agency services.

“The valuation team, in particular, is enjoying a period of sustained growth, boosted earlier this year by the arrival of Jonathon Matthews as a second director and now the appointment of two new surveyors.”
