Ghelamco buys the mixed use project in Wilsele (Leuven).

CB Richard Ellis advised the cigar manufacturer Henri Wintermans in the sale of its assets located in Wilsele, nearby the city of Vaartkom in Leuven.

The buyer is the international developer Ghelamco.

The existing assets area is 15.000 m². The new project of 17.000 m² whereof a part consists of a renovation is also part of the transaction. Nothing has been decided yet but the site might be hosting office area, retail area or a play area.

The assets were bought under condition precedent of acceptance of the sale by GRUP Vaartkom.

The Henri Wintermans site is located along the city of Vaartkom in Leuven. The Vaartkom is the cradle of the rich brewery past of the region (Brewery Artois for example).
The blocks have been redeveloped one by one since the industry disappeared in the 20th century.

The most well-known development of this ambitious urban project is the Tweewaters district that will soon host more than 1.200 green residential units. The Tweewaters is along the Henri Wintermans site.

Ghelamco is an international development company specialising in the construction of offices, distribution centres and apartment buildings in Poland, Belgium, France and Holland.
