Knight Frank and CBRE appointed as advisers at 100 Leadenhall

Global real estate consultancies, Knight Frank and CBRE have been appointed as Office Leasing and Development advisers on 100 Leadenhall, London, on behalf of Frontier Dragon Limited, a subsidiary of Lai Sun Development Company Limited, the issued shares of which are listed and traded on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Stock Code: 488). London & Oriental LLP are the UK Client Representative and Development Adviser.

Situated next to the Gherkin and opposite the Scalpel in the high-rise district in the City of London, 100 Leadenhall is a mixed-use development that has been designed by global architecture firm, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).

Set to be one of the largest commercial towers in London, the 56-storey project will deliver new public realm, 1 million sq. ft. of office space and an amenity offer, which will cater for the occupiers of the future.

Building on the success of recent high-rise developments in Central London, the team will deliver the next evolution of the tower with ESG and amenity at its core. This will broaden the appeal of 100 Leadenhall to all Central London occupiers outside of those with purely a City focus. The building will target a carbon net zero strategy in line with RIBA 2030 standards, thereby meeting the demands of all major global occupiers by the time of delivery.

Planning has already been secured for the scheme, which has a vacant possession date finalised by the end of 2023 so the project is on course to complete by 2028.

Chew Fook Aun, Deputy Chairman of Lai Sun Development Company Limited said: “We are delighted to be working with both Knight Frank and CBRE on our new project at 100 Leadenhall Street. The appointment of leasing agents is an important first step on the journey to deliver what will be a best in class workspace for the future occupier of London and we look forward to drawing on their experience and expertise as we move forward.”

Mark Cannell, at London & Oriental commented “We have huge ambitions for this project and we are setting our goal to produce the first net carbon zero commercial skyscraper in the City of London.”

Kent Jackson, Partner at SOM commented "The City of London is unique for its combination of key heritage buildings with internationally renowned 21st century buildings. SOM is extremely proud to contribute to its enduring architectural legacy together with our new partners Knight Frank and CBRE. Our design for 100 Leadenhall embraces the city’s historic fabric on the ground and in the sky, enhances the public realm and delivers on our mission to combine sustainability and structural engineering sensibilities with the future needs of both the City and its residents.”
