NESPRESSO TO OPEN SECOND LONDON CAFÉ IN SOHO AS PART OF EXPANSION PLAN

Coffee brand Nespresso will open its second London ‘Café Nespresso’ in Soho, adjoining the new Ivy Café.

CBRE acted on behalf of Nespresso in the exchange with landlord Great Portland Estates for 32 Broadwick Street on the corner of Poland Street.

The 1,537 sq. ft. ground floor and 1,500 sq. ft. basement unit is part of the brand’s planned expansion in the capital, and follows the opening of its first London Café Nespresso on Cheapside in July. It offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails and food alongside coffee.

Kevin Farrow, Senior Director, Central London Retail at CBRE, said: “This is an exciting new location in the heart of London’s Soho district for Café Nespresso. Together with Cheapside acquired last year, Broadwick Street is testament to Nespresso’s confidence in London post the vote to leave the EU, and further demonstrates the recognition of the capital as a draw to global brands.”

Trained Nespresso ‘Maestros’ will provide advice on the gourmet coffee options and origins, the profile of each blend and the best food accompaniments for each coffee. The café will also feature a ‘Nespresso Cube’, the automated self-service boutique that prepares personalised multi-product orders in minutes, giving customers the chance to also buy Nespresso capsules to take home.

Francisco Nogueira, Managing Director of Nespresso UK and Ireland, said: “Following in the footsteps of our first successful solo launch in June last year, we are extending the Nespresso offering to a wider base in the capital and into a neighbourhood famous for its thriving coffee culture and vibrant atmosphere. As our customers enjoy their coffee or an after-work cocktail, we want them to experience a truly personalised service. The combination of our range of distinct coffee blends created into recipes by expert Coffee Maestros means that Café Nespresso customers are able to enjoy drinks prepared exactly for their tastes.”

Mark Terry, Leasing Transactions Manager, Great Portland Estates, said: “We are delighted to build on our recent leasing success in welcoming Nespresso to 30 Broadwick Street. It is testament to the quality of the scheme that we are able to attract tenants of this calibre.”

Nash Bond acted on behalf of Great Portland Estates. Café Nespresso is due to open in April 2017.
