Retail sales rise in August
Latest ONS retail sales figures show that volume growth rose by 1.2% over the month
Monthly growth was driven by textile, clothing and footwear stores. Sales volumes in food stores fell by 0.2%.
A weakening economy in conjunction with stagnant rental growth will result in some further outward yield shifts into next year.
Retail rental growth in the year-to-date is just 0.5%, reflecting weak expansion activity in the expectation of faltering retail spending.
