Sustainability expert to join CBRE’s UK Valuation business
Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has today announced the appointment of Sam Carson to lead Sustainability advisory services within its market-leading UK Valuation & Advisory business, led by Nick Knight.
Sam has a wealth of experience working in the sustainability sector and was most recently Director of Sustainability at consultancy Carbon Intelligence. In this role he was responsible for leading and developing sustainability solutions for commercial real estate, overseeing projects for clients including Aviva Investors and Federated Hermes REIM. He is an expert in Net Zero pathways with a detailed understanding of operational, embodied and whole life carbon and sits on the GRESB European Benchmark Committee.
In his new role, Sam will be responsible for integrating sustainability benchmarks and consulting services within CBRE’s Valuation business enabling the team to consider the impact of environmental risk on real estate values as well as providing a comprehensive level of reporting and insight to clients. Additionally, Sam will provide a Fund Valuation service that offers asset level specific reporting using industry benchmarks and embed best practice and innovation around sustainable working practices within the team.
Rarely is a real estate decision made these days without a serious consideration for sustainability. With the real estate industry navigating a path to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, we are constantly looking for ways to provide clients with a competitive advantage and having Sam integrated within our team will enable us to embed sustainability at the forefront of all of our Valuation advice.

His strong track record in advising a range of institutional investors on sustainability issues and specifically his expertise around sustainability benchmarks and associated key performance indicators, will be critical to us achieving the best outcomes for our clients.
