They include 704m sq of PV solar power which is expected to generate around 114 MWh of electricity per year and a hybrid heating and cooling system with a significant reduction in refrigerant gases, resulting in far lower emissions and optimised energy consumption.
Construction of Base is quickly progressing and is on target to open in Spring next year. We hope to be one of the first government ‘shovel ready’ funded developments to complete. Working with CBRE, we’re very much looking forward to welcoming a new cluster of pioneering businesses working in Industry 4.0 to Manchester Science Park. There is a unique opportunity for these companies at this campus to access the support they need to grow, whether that be access to highly skilled talent, additional funding or accelerated market access. Base will become a new specialist hub for Manchester, building on the region’s internationally recognised tech and manufacturing cluster.
Manchester Science Park is a fantastic place for tech companies to locate their business, being so close to the local universities, and providing the opportunity to directly access graduates with the relevant skills and degrees.
