CBRE Announces Judging Panel for UK Proptech Challenge

CBRE, the world’s leading global real estate advisor, has announced the judging panel for its newly expanded Proptech Challenge.

The panel will comprise journalist Emily Wright, Proptech entrepreneur Tripty Arya and CBRE’s Nick Wright and James Pearson.

Tripty Arya is the founder & CEO of TRAVTUS, a PropTech business providing the first automated digital property management systems. With offices in the US, UK, and Singapore, the company focusses on Machine Learning and data driven solutions for automating Property operations.

Emily Wright is features and global editor of Estates Gazette specialising in domestic and global real estate investment, the TMT and start-up sectors and future of property design and development around the world. She has secured interviews with some of the biggest names in real estate and politics, including Zaha Hadid, Sir Terence Conran and Donald Trump. She is also a contributor to GQ, Wired, The Sunday Times and The Spaces.

Nick Wright joined CBRE from KPMG where he was Digital, Innovation, Customer and PropTech lead for its UK real estate division. Focusing primarily on investor clients, Nick works to coordinate the provision of in-depth occupier intelligence and insights and uses his leading expertise in prop tech to work with clients to identify opportunities for bespoke innovation and tech solutions.

James Pearson is part of the EMEA Research team at CBRE. He began his career at retail start up Appear Here, which is now the leading online marketplace for short-term retail space. James has a focus on how global corporations view flexible office types and what the future of office buildings might look like.

Launched in Spain last year, the first year of the competition witnessed over 220 applicants compete for €25,000 in prize money, with 80 leading projects presented to CBRE’s senior team. This year the challenge has been expanded to Germany, Portugal, the UK, and Spain offering prize money, mentorship and industry connections for the next generation of real estate leaders.

The winning applicants will receive financial support and business mentoring to help develop and grow their projects as well as access to CBRE offices and on-site resources.

The deadline for entries has been extended to November 12th and finalists will be announced February 2019.
