CBRE Votes For Shelter As Its First UK Charity Partner

CBRE has announced a new two year partnership with national housing and homelessness charity, Shelter as part of its ‘building a better future’ responsible business plan.

CBRE has committed £250,000 to Shelter over the course of the partnership – the first time the business has appointed a specific UK-wide charity partner. CBRE will also encourage its staff to donate time to selected volunteering projects across the country, whilst supporting fundraising events such as the annual CBRE UK Property Industry Charity Bike Ride taking place on 30 July – helping to raise a further £250,000 for the charity.

“We are very excited to launch our new partnership with Shelter, our chosen UK charity partner. This gives us a chance to make a difference to over 1,300 families around the UK who will benefit from Shelter’s advice and support, building on our successful corporate responsibility programme. We look forward to developing our partnership with Shelter, a charity that makes such a vital contribution to communities across the UK.”

CBRE’s donations will help ensure Shelter’s family homelessness service can reach over 1,300 additional UK families through specific projects around the country, providing families with a place to call home.

Following an extensive nomination process and presentations from a number of charities, CBRE staff across the UK voted on their preferred partner from a shortlist of three in January.

Campbell Robb, Chief Executive, Shelter commented:“We’re thrilled to welcome this new partnership with CBRE, and hugely grateful to their staff for choosing us as their first UK-wide charity partner. Every penny raised will help us to support, even more, families facing bad housing and homelessness, and make sure that nobody has to fight thison their own.”

“CBRE staff are dedicated and passionate when it comes to our charitable fundraising efforts. Our employees have been very engaged in the selection process and more than 70% voted in our first employee ballot from across our UK offices. There are already a terrific number of fundraising and volunteering activities in the calendar, and this new partnership will ensure that we develop many more.”
